Hi! I am Marco Picerni
I am a PhD candidate at the International School for Advanced Studies (SISSA), under the supervision of prof. Nicola Gigli.
I work on the geometry of spaces that are not smooth — Lorentzian spaces, metric measure spaces, and the low-regularity end of elliptic and nonlocal PDEs — with a recurring interest in what survives when a structure is allowed to degenerate. Alongside this, I work on the mathematics of magnetocardiography, where the same question is asked about a heart instead of a spacetime.
